Faculty Committees

Elected Faculty Council
The Faculty Council advises the dean on matters of faculty promotion and tenure, and on matters involving academic policy, including priorities, planning, resource and salary allocation, and budgets. The Council provides governance for the faculty of the Information School, and is concerned with all domains of faculty authority and duties of the faculty, including professional and personnel issues affecting faculty. The Council is directly accountable to the faculty as a whole, from which it is elected. It may act on behalf of the School and shall account to the faculty for those acts.

Diversity Committee
The Diversity Committee is dedicated to the promotion of diversity at the Information School and the University of Washington. Through efforts in many areas, including outreach, recruitment, and retention, the committee works to foster an openness regarding diverse ideas and perspectives. The Diversity Committee meets a few times each quarter to review diversity needs and efforts of the iSchool and to help plan and implement various programs.

Facilites Advisory Committee
The committee will advise the Assistant Dean for Planning and Administration on policies and procedures on matters of assignment of offices and use and design of facilities in general.
