Current Projects
Adam Moore's most recent book project—Privacy Rights: Moral and Legal Foundations – offers a definition and justification of individual privacy rights, an account of how these rights should be codified in the law, and an application of the proposed theory to drug testing, computer security, and public accountability. The goal is to provide a philosophically rigorous defense of privacy rights while addressing numerous important applied issues such as: privacy v. free speech, drug testing, and national security and public accountability.
Karine Barzilai-Nahon and Gad Barzilai, Co-Principal Investigators
By addressing four dimensions of tensions and challenges—hierarchy, patriarchy, discipline, and seclusion—this project is investigating the relationship between religious fundamentalist communities and the Internet. Investigators are developing the concept of cultured technology, and analyzing the ways communities reshape technology and make it part of their culture, while on the other hand allowing this technology to make certain changes in their customary way of life and in their unwritten laws.
