Computer Classroom

The Information School maintains a Computer Classroom available to students enrolled in iSchool classes. The classroom, located in Mary Gates Hall (MGH) 430, provides students with hands-on experience using a variety of software applications. Students can "watch and do" as instructors teach, demonstrate, or assist. The Computer Classroom is available for reserve by faculty wishing to incorporate hands-on technology into their classes.

The instructor's screen can be projected to the front of the room.
The Computer Classroom includes 35 student stations and an instructor station. See lab computer specifications and installed software.
Whenever the classroom is free, it's available as a general-purpose computer lab.

Each workstation has a popup electrical outlet for laptop users. Eight student workstations and the instructor station also provide yellow ethernet cables for laptops.

A LCD projector provides a bright image for computer and video projection. The instructor screen can be projected to the front of the room using the ceiling-mounted LCD projector.
The room is also equipped with an audio system that includes a wireless lapel microphone for the instructor, amplifier, ceiling-mounted speakers, and a VCR. Output from the VCR can be projected at the front of the room.
