All iSchool Orientation

Time: 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Location: Kane Hall, Room 110 and 225 (Walker-Ames)

The All iSchool Orientation is the Information School's official welcome event for all incoming Informatics, MLIS, MSIM and PhD students.

The orientation event will be held in Kane Hall room 110 from 1:30-2:30 p.m., with an iSchool Fair and refreshments to follow in the Walker Ames room (Kane 225) from 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Brown Bag: Archives and Preservation Club

Find out more about the UW Archives and Preservation Club. A panel from UW Special Collections will discuss future careers in archives, advise on working with the iSchool curriculum to prepare for the field, and answer any questions.

Presentation: Tuition Exemption

Time: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Location: Mary Gates Hall, room 310D

Please attend this information session if you are a new MLIS student who intends to make use of the tuition exemption available to current state employees. Marie Potter, the academic advisor for the MLIS program, will present on how to register for MLIS and other iSchool classes, policies or procedures you will need to know, and tips for successful completion of the MLIS program.

Please join returning students from the Information School's Informatics, Day and Distance MLIS, Day and Executive MSIM, and Ph.D. programs as they host *ourSchool*, a mixer that's just for students. Take a breather from classes and residencies, have some great conversations, ask questions, and eat snacks while you get to know your colleagues.
